2025 Reel

Lighting Technical Director
Type
Demo Reel
The through-line is intentionality. Fur that feels tactile, products that feel precious, destruction that feels beautiful. Each clip earned its place by showing something the others don't.
Hero character and creature lighting across all projects · Product visualization for Apple, consumer goods · Environment and atmosphere lighting · FX integration and volumetric lighting
Intent
A reel is a promise — it says "this is what I can do for you." Every clip was chosen not just for visual impact, but to demonstrate range: creature work, product visualization, stylized animation, photoreal integration. The through-line is intentionality — light that serves the story, not light that shows off.
Challenge
Curating sixteen years of work into two minutes means killing darlings. The hardest part isn't finding good shots — it's finding shots that communicate capability quickly. Each clip needs to earn its place by showing something the others don't.
Approach
I organized by lighting challenge rather than chronology or client prestige. Fur, glass, metal, volumetrics, stylized, photoreal — the reel walks through different problems and solutions. The pacing mirrors how I think about projects: establish the world, reveal the detail, move on.
Reference
The reels of cinematographers like Roger Deakins and Bradford Young — they don't just show pretty images, they show range and intentionality. Also the portfolio presentations of studios like Framestore and MPC, which balance spectacle with craft.
